What to bring to your makeup lesson
Lesson booked: Let’s check you’ve got everything you need!
Embarking on a makeup lesson adventure and unsure about what to pack? Here's a handy guide to ensure you're fully prepared for your glam session:
Should I bring my own makeup products?
While it's not necessary to bring your entire makeup collection, feel free to bring along any favourite products you'd like to incorporate into your lesson. This could include your go-to foundation, concealer, or lipstick to ensure the lesson reflects your personal style. What about makeup brushes?
If you have makeup brushes at home, feel free to bring them along. Your makeup artist will typically provide a selection of brushes for you to use during the lesson but if you’re brushless or your own brushes have seen better days, you can opt to include a flawless application tool kit as part of your lesson.Do I need to bring skincare products?
Your makeup lesson will likely start with skin prep, so it's helpful to bring along any skincare products you use regularly. This could include cleanser, moisturiser, and sunscreen to ensure your skin is prepped and primed for makeup application.Should I bring inspiration photos?
Absolutely! Bringing along inspiration photos of makeup looks you love can be incredibly helpful for your makeup artist to understand your style preferences. Whether it's a celebrity red carpet look or a Pinterest-inspired bridal makeup, these photos can serve as a starting point for your lesson. What about accessories?
If you’ve booked a bridal lesson and are planning to wear any hair accessories or a veil on the big day, it can be helpful to bring these along to your makeup lesson. This allows your makeup artist to coordinate your makeup look with your accessories for a cohesive overall appearance. Is there anything else I should bring?
It's always a good idea to bring along a few essentials such as a hair tie to keep your hair out of your face during the lesson and a means to jot down all the tips and product recommendations from your makeup artist. What if I have specific skincare concerns or allergies?
If you have any specific skincare concerns or allergies, be sure to inform your makeup artist ahead of time. This allows them to select products that are suitable for your skin type and avoid any ingredients that may cause irritation or allergic reactions.Should I come with a clean face?
Yes, it's best to arrive with a clean, makeup-free face for your lesson. This ensures that your makeup artist can start with a fresh canvas and tailor the lesson to your individual skin type and concerns.Do I need to bring my own mirror?
Your makeup artist will typically provide mirrors for you to use during the lesson. However, if you have a handheld mirror that you're comfortable using, feel free to bring it along for any close-up makeup application. Can I bring a friend or family member?
Absolutely! We want you to feel as comfortable as possible during your lesson and if that means bringing someone along for moral support (or just to act as a second memory bank) then by all means do! If you do need a hand to hold, we would recommend bringing your biggest cheerleader, someone who will build you up if your confidence dips. Equally, if you are flying solo, we’ll be the cheerleader you need, don’t worry!
